Job Title: Sr. Mechanical Engineer
Location: US-CA 


Responsibilities:
Mechanical design and development of complex custom integrated microwave assemblies (IMAs) and microwave amplifiers.
Support the operation and improvement of the mechanical engineering team:
• mechanical concept creation and analysis of new business proposals,
• successful mechanical design, development, validation, and production release / transition of new products
• investigation, validation, and standardization of improved mechanical structures & techniques for improved cost and performance
• efficiency improvements in our methodology and creation of procedures
Technical responsibilities include: Leading the creation of new mechanical concepts for improved SWaP-C (size, weight, power, and cost), automation, reliability, and design cycle time. Designing, analyzing, and communicating winning mechanical construction proposals for new products. Supplementing the team’s mechanical analysis and product development activities. Prepare test methods and specifications, analyze and test hardware to verify performance. Lead PDR, CDR, PRR design reviews and give presentations to management and customers.
Provide guidance on technology trends and help drive our industry competitiveness, especially as it pertains to SWaP improvements.
Required Skills: Experience in electromechanical design, analysis, validation, and automation. Ability to design and analyze hardware for severe environments. Experience with computer-aided design tools such as SOLIDWORKS and ANSYS, as well as electronic documentation platforms (SOLIDWORKS PDM is a plus). Ability to conceptualize initial subsystem designs, communicate their competitiveness, and lead team execution to successful development. Organize design reviews and customer presentations. Ability to communicate clearly with excellent speaking, writing, and presentation skills.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
• Design and development of packaging to withstand shock, vibration, temperature and humidity.
• Perform thermal, structural and vibration analysis
• Provide complete mechanical design for manufacturing.
• Design tooling and fixturing to support assembly operations.
• Provides existing product line support in design and packaging activities including the modification of hardware in production
• Participates in generating product concepts.
• Ability to work in a safe professional manner adhering to all regulatory requirements including OSHA, EPA, State and Federal Regulations.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
BSME required, MSME preferred.15+ years work experience in microelectronics packaging.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with ability to find creative and innovative solutions.

Must be proficient with 3D mechanical design software with a focus on design intent. Must be proficient with structural and thermal FEA, experience with CFD is a plus.

Must be proficient in creating production documentation with a clear use of GD&T.

Strong experimentation skills including design validation, optimization, and design of experiments. HALT/HASS testing with experience in space qualification testing a plus.

Must have excellent communications skills, organizational skills. Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively and be flexible within a dynamic environment.
