Job Description:

Responsible for developing, implementing and administering supply chain programs, tools and processes for multiple supply chain functions including commodity management, material management, procurement and subcontracts. Ensures sourcing efforts meet business goals and objectives. Works with functional leaders to perform analysis and identify areas for performance improvement. Oversees and supports implementation of strategic initiatives, as well as activities related to global sourcing, supplier selection, product delivery specifications, and quality. Establishes, implements, and maintains policies, procedures, and material control systems to reduce costs, streamline procedures, and implement solutions. Develops and maintains working relationships with global supply chain partners. Designs and implements business metrics to monitor, track, and report sourcing project progress.

Essential Functions:

  • rovides administrative and clerical support specifically related to supply chain and procurement department activities
  • Prepares standard requests for quotations and purchase requisitions.
  • Maintains information on computer systems
  • Maintains files, logs, records of invoices, purchase orders and other related documentation
  • Obtain detailed open order status from suppliers, update purchase order delivery dates, and expedite requests as required.
  • Interface and build stable working relationships with manufacturing, quality, engineers, planning and program office regarding procurement demands.
  • Procures indirect items through Ariba requisitions and low dollar, non-inventory program requirements.
  • Basic purchasing functions of requisition processing; Supplier search; composition and issue of Requests for Quote; Bid analysis and issue of Award.
  • Update and maintains system compliance information.
  • Gather supplier qualification documentation for approval and support buyers with vetting new suppliers.
  • Complete weekly and monthly departmental metrics including quality ratings, delivery ratings, and trends related to supplier performance
  • Communicate supplier metrics, trends, and RCCA both externally to suppliers and internally to key stakeholders
  • Participate in key sourcing initiatives and strategy across multiple commodities, including reporting on status of the projects to management
  • Support the development of templates and other tools that support compliant purchasing and supply chain actions.
  • Participate in the development and implementation of systems that result in improved operational efficiency and reduced organization risk.
  • Support quarterly internal functional compliance system review and internal control self-assessments.
  • Conduct routine compliance review on procurement files to document ongoing operational quality.
  • Proficient understanding and utilization of MS Office including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Learns new software applications and processes.
  • Travel up to 20%

 

Qualifications:

 

  • Requires strong knowledge of job area typically obtained through advanced education combined with experience. Typically viewed as having a specialty with discipline. May have broad knowledge of project management.
