Product Line Manager ( Power Amps)

The role is to start up and run on a daily basis a production cell dedicated to the manufacture of high-power amplifiers for a critical, multi-year military project.

Critical responsibilities include:

  • Report to the CEO and have full ownership for successful manufacturing execution of this program
  • To establish and manage a new production cell producing military grade amplifiers in volume and that exceed 100W power output using GaN transistors.
  • To ensure “on-time, on-budget and on-quality” for each delivery
  • To manage, train and embark on continuous improvement of a dedicated team of 3-5 direct cell members in assembly and test eventually and to enable scaling per customer demands.
  • Use solid engineering based, production based and common sense principle to identify root causes of production glitches and come with solutions
  • Execute in-line quality procedures on a daily basis with all relevant operators giving immediate training and coaching when required.
  • To manage materials requirements, work instructions, travelers and documentation in a “non-ERP” environment
  • To benchmark “time and motion” activities for each production step and seek methods to increase productivity or, as a minimum, enable transparency and predictability
  • To personally train and coach staff to meet the productivity and work standard required (soldering and assembly)
  • To personally ensure in-line QC requirements are met or exceeded
  • To ensure daily that all resources are in place to meet daily goals
  • Ensuring that health and safety regulations are met.
  • Set and/or determining quality control standards.
  • Contribute to ERP development and a regimented production workforce that adheres to procedures

Essential Requirements:

  • Minimum 7 years electronics assembly production management experience
  • RF and amplifier manufacture experience is essential
  • Manufacture to military standards is essential
  • Must be or have been recently certified IPC-610 J-Standard, preferably as a trainer
  • Must be metrics driven (KPIs), analytical with strong written and verbal communication
  • Must be highly IT literate (MS Office) having ERP and project management experience
  • Must be able to work overtime and in a multi-cultural environment
  • Must be able to write, review or contribute to production and QC documentation
  • Must have a track record in continuous improvement to increase productivity
  • Must impart, train and enforce manufacturing discipline to a traditionally “mom and pop” culture now on a path to being a focused and process driven company
