Senior RF Design Engineer

Sr. RF Design Engineer Location:

US-CA Overview:

Client has over 50 years of experience in the design, development, and manufacture of sophisticated microwave/RF components and integrated assemblies for the most demanding challenges. Our products and capabilities are sought after by civilian and military organizations spanning numerous global markets, including Aviation, Communication, Electronic Warfare (EW/ECM/CIED), Industrial, Missile/UAV, Radar, Satcom, Space, and Test and Measurement. Client invests heavily in research and development to maintain the ability to offer the world’s most advanced MW/RF capabilities for current and emerging challenges.

Responsibilities: Client has an immediate opening for a Senior RF design engineer who will design and support IMA-Integrated-Microwave Sub-Assemblies operating in the frequency from DC to 60GHz range and wide range of microwave components including but not limited to filters, amplifiers, voltage-controlled oscillators, mixers, detectors and associated subassemblies used on military, and high-reliability space programs. Responsibilities include developing initial system architecture and block diagram using cascade analysis tools, frequency planning, EM CAD tools. Device evaluation and selection of discrete devices and MMICs for gain, power, noise, linearity. Design and usage of LNA, SSPA, filters, and mixer, frequency multipliers, isolators, couplers, and phase locked oscillator and synthesizers. Optimize tradeoffs between gain, noise figure, power compression, spurious. Hardware layout, component evaluation, prototype construction, and test. Be able to work with minimum supervision to lead projects through technical customer reviews such as PDR (Preliminary Design Review), CDR (Critical Design Review), and MRR (Manufacturing Readiness Review), give presentations to management and customers. Works with engineering technicians and production engineers to resolve technical issues. Supports bid and proposal activities as assigned. May assist in writing technical proposals and perform deratings and Worst-Case-Circuit-Analysis for various Space customers. Works with Document Controls to document new or modified existing designs. Duties will also include the research and investigation of new technologies applicable to the design of microwave components, sub-assemblies, and the evaluation of the new devices, MMIC and discrete, to assist in keeping the component production lines competitive for more than 600-catalog products. The support of obsolescence component replacement will also part of the duties. Qualifications: 1.
