Experience Overview 

Jan 1981 – Present 

Growth Management Consultant 

Over twenty years of growth management consultancy experience. Directed projects in the USA, UK Ireland, and Costa Rica, for over forty companies, across industries, as both a consultant and on full time assignments, which have included: 

·         Expansion feasibility studies, and strategic and marketing planning. Sourcing of marketing and distribution channels. Use of intelligence/database marketing resources. 

·         Manpower resource planning. Recruitment, structuring and training of management teams, to CEO level.  

·         Review and investigation of investment opportunities and strategies.  

·         Coordination of acquisition activities, including due diligence.  

·         Joint venture sourcing and coordination.  

·         Establishment of subsidiaries, including overseeing facilities acquisition and build-out, and, recruiting, training and installation of management teams at those locations. 

·         Sat on Advisory Committees. Took key leadership roles in transition periods. 

·         Chaired and facilitated CEO/President groups over a seven-year period. (Twelve permanent members per group. Facilitated the professional and personal development of Presidents and CEOs, in peer-group workshop, and personal one-to-one situations.)

                                                                                                                      

 

As an integral part of consulting business, undertook the following full time assignments: 

Bay4 Capital Partners, Tampa, Florida  (15 months) 

Director – Corporate Development  

Joined Bay4 after a consulting period with the CEO. Responsible for: evaluating executive management teams; reviewing business plans and investment proposals and recommending investment strategies; reviewing potential investment candidate companies; reviewing and tracking performance of current portfolio companies; assisted with new business development for new portfolio companies. 

Island One Resorts Inc., Orlando Florida (18 month term) 

Vice President of Corporate Development 

Responsible for the implementation and direction of management development programs, and company training programs for this major, Orlando based, resort owner and development corporation. Brought in by the CEO to undertake this assignment, after having worked with her on several consulting projects over a period of years.  

Sawtek Inc.  Orlando, Florida (3year term)

 

Director of Corporate Development 

Employed on a full time contract by Sawtek Inc., after a six-month initial consulting period. (Sawtek, a NASDAQ traded company, is a leading designer and manufacturer of frequency filtering devices for the wireless communications industry worldwide).  

Working closely with the CEO and executive management team, specific responsibilities included; manpower resource planning and the restructuring of management teams; integration of all new key executive and management positions; directed the establishment of Sawtek’s offshore high tech manufacturing subsidiary, in a free trade zone in Costa Rica, which included all activities from negotiations with Costa Rican government departments, to the opening of the facility and installation of the management team; coordinated the due diligence activities for acquisitions; assisted the CFO in coordinating portions of public offering activities for a NASDAQ, IPO. During this 3 yr. period company revenues grew twelve fold.

 

Prior Relevant Employment 

Milton Bradley, Ealing, London, UK Jan. 1978 – Dec. 1980 

Senior Manager (US VP Equivalent) – National Accounts Sales & Marketing Division 

Responsible for the management of Milton Bradley’s National Accounts Division. This division was responsible for over 70% of the company’s business in the UK.

 

H.J.Heinz Company, Hayes Park, London, UK Feb. 1972 – Dec 1977. 

Held three positions of increasing responsibility with H.J. Heinz. Sales force in Southern England.

Education 

High School education completed in the UK, at Petersfield, Hampshire. 

Attained British Army Certificates of Education (ACE) Classes 1 & 2 

Continuing Education:    Completed in excess of 60 courses and workshops covering all aspects of business management.

Florida Real Estate School - Attained State of Florida Real Estate License.

 

US Degree Equivalency:    US equivalency assessed as, “BBA”, by WES New York.

(Attained for immigration purposes in 1986).
